Nippon: Zaibatsu is a fast-paced, highly competitive area-majority worker-placement game where actions can’t be blocked. It is set in a Meiji-era Japan, when rapid industrialization was transforming the life of the entire country.

In the game, players invest in new industries, build factories and railroads, and produce goods to saturate local markets and fulfill contracts — all to grow their influence and power and to become rulers of the new modernized country.

Nippon: Zaibatsu is an enhanced and reimagined anniversary edition of Nippon (2015), which was well-acclaimed and popular around the world.

Emperor’s Edition is the Kickstarter version of the game with all additional content.
• Twice as many factories: double-sided factories open up many new strategies and ensure variability and replayability.

🎲 Gameplay Highlights:
• Timing is key: race other players to get the most beneficial factories, secure markets, and claim bonuses.
•  Expand your business rapidly or invest heavily to secure late-game dominance: every strategy is viable.
•  Control the pace of the game by strategically picking workers and timing your income rounds.
•  Play against a ruthless Automa that does not change the gameplay. It requires little upkeep but can give odds even to an experienced player. 

🎯 How to Win:
Players gain victory points in two distinctive but interconnected ways. Three times during the game, they score points for supplying local markets with goods produced in their factories and winning area majority. At the end of the game, they also gain points for the tracks on their boards that they’ve chosen during the game.
